After starting fitness program with a trainer and seeing beneficial results of weight release as well as increased stamina, Lisa sensed her body craving yoga. She joined a gym that offered classes in various styles and was drawn to the gentle practice of Yin –experiencing peace during practice as well as benefit to flexibility, especially lower body … particularly resonant because she had witnessed changes to her mother’s mobility over time that resulted in hip replacement surgery on both sides, with one needing revision. In Savasana (final meditative pose) during a class, “Yoga Teacher” kept floating through her mind; acknowledging its presence and giving it permission to pass, the thought was persistent. When passing information table outside the studio, Lisa picked up what appeared to be a poster; opening it fully, she was holding information for Yoga Teacher Training. Recognizing and appreciating the Higher Power directive being given, Lisa signed up for 200 Hour course and became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200). Soon after receiving that designation, in the continuum of spiritual guidance, when Intensive with Melissa Christensen –who has studied with Paul Grilley, Sarah Powers, and Bernie Clark– was offered in Dallas, she became certified to teach Yin Yoga. Lisa shares the gift of this practice, which is complementary to active exercise and other yoga lineages, in group classes and Private Sessions.
